Capturing an image with my camera is only the beginning of a journey toward a finished piece of art.  Sometimes my work evokes a literal interpretation of a scene or subject. More often however I drive well beyond what the eye “sees” through the viewfinder. Developing the image in the digital darkroom is where I apply what I call the “Art Sauce.”  The completed vision might have an almost painterly feel, but occasionally I push the boundaries even further toward the abstract. Color, contrast and mood are the driving forces behind my photography. My work builds upon the technical execution of “taking the picture” toward taking the picture somewhere special.
